In two rural regions from Santiago de Cuba it is applied a didactic project which has as antecedent the students’ problems related to the poor use of the mother tongue during the teaching learning-process and the teacher’s limited use of the sociocultural context in class as the students’ background knowledge and the appropriation of new information. This article, as part of a practical experience, has the objective to orient primary school teachers the theoretical bases of orality as part of the rural context for the students’ learning. In this way orality comes to be a cognitive domain for the students’ learning in mid or long turn. The results obtained were positives since they permitted the students to know better their cultural context and their mother tongue at the same time through using proverbs, riddle, stories, myth, which are part of their rural culture. Nowadays to favor learning the third perfectiousness of the Cuban Educational System stimulates and orient the systematic work of the cultural context around the students’ school area and community.
