COOPERATIVISMO MST: UM ESTUDO SOBRE A FUNDAÇÃO DA COCAPAR

Este artigo é parte integrante dos resultados de pesquisas realizadas na elaboração de Monografia de conclusão de curso em Geografia na Universidade Estadual Paulista, campus de Presidente Prudente. Atualmente o autor esta cursando Mestado na mesma universidade. Este trabalho tem como propósito analisar as características da fundação da COCAPAR (Cooperativa dos Assentados do Pontar do Paranapanema), observando como ocorreram as organizações para a fundação da cooperativa, que inseriu novas estratégias de organização por parte do Movimento dos Trabalhadores Sem-Terra (MST), aos assentamentos rurais. Os assentamentos surgem como resultados da luta dos movimentos socioterritoriais pela terra e reforma agrária. Esse é o tipo de reforma agrária existente no país, a implantação de assentamentos rurais mediante a pressão popular. A construção de cooperativas surge nos assentamentos rurais objetivando a permanência na terra, pois após a conquista da terra, as famílias assentadas necessitam permanecer e reproduzir seus modos de vida, buscando ascenção social e emancipação econômica, o campesinato passa então a articular suas produções em cooperativas.
