The activities developed in a hydrographic basin directly influence the quality and availability of water. The study aims to identify the main purposes of use and users of water, through the records of grants issued in the city of Ji-Paraná, RO. With documentary research, data on grants for the period 2011 to 2020 were obtained, by sending an Official Letter to the Secretary of State for Environmental Development - SEDAM, to identify the type of grant, users, purposes of use, location (geographical coordinates of the catchment point) and the flow granted. Thus, the data were organized in graphics, tables and thematic maps in Microsoft Excel and QGIS. The main purposes of uses and the largest number of grant emissions in the period studied were for Industrial Use (38), Fish Farming (36) and Domestic Use (19), respectively. In addition, a diversification in uses over time was observed, as in the first year of analysis (2011) there was only a permit issued for Pisciculture, which also represented the highest flow of water granted (4369.05 m³/h). Despite the fact that the Industry and Fish Farming stand out in granting issues, they do not portray all the activities developed in the region, due to flaws that still exist in the implementation of this instrument. Thus, although the situation of water resources is satisfactory, the growth of economic activities is an indication that measures must be taken to alleviate current and future problems related to water resources.
