AMAZONIAN SOILS AT SCHOOL: A PRELIMINARY APPROACH

Abstract

The soil is an important component in the regulation and environmental balance, developing several environmental services, due to its multiple functions and at the same time the countless negative impacts that the soil has been suffering in an accelerated way, the soil theme must be increasingly addressed in school. So, the soil influences and is influenced by other elements of the environment such as rocks, climates, relief, hydrography, vegetation and man. Therefore, given the importance of the soil for society in general and the need to approach this topic in the classroom, this research aims to analyze the 6th grade Geography textbooks regarding the theme soils of the Amazon and propose didactic-pedagogical alternatives for assist in approaching this content in Elementary School II classes, within the scope of the geography discipline. As for the methodological approach, the research is characterized as qualitative, descriptive. With regard to research procedures, this constitutes a bibliographical and documental research and a case study. The results point out that it is necessary to present the soil in a multidisciplinary way, in a way that leads the students to understand all the environmental services that it performs and that makes it vital for the biosphere and society. With regard to the approach relating to the soils of the Amazon, it is underestimated in the analyzed books, and it is necessary for the teacher to make this relationship between the general content of the book and the Amazonian reality, using techniques and didactic-pedagogical resources that arouse attention and interest. of the student by the subject addressed.

Doutora em Ciências pela Universidade Estadual de Campinas (2019), Mestre em Geociências pela Universidade Federal do Amazonas (2006) e Graduada em Licenciatura Plena em Geografia pela Universidade Federal do Amazonas (2004). Atualmente é Professora Assistente do Curso de Geografia da Universidade Estadual do Amazonas (UEA), atuando na área de ensino-aprendizagem.
