The research aimed to highlight the representations of the Tupaiús Indians in the History of Santarém and the possible reasons for the omission of the History of these Indians from their culture in Basic Education also in Santarém. For the production of the text we used some authors who wrote about the Tupaiús Indians and as a source we used interviews with scholars of this group of indigenous people today. The research used bibliographic methods with qualitative approach and using the method of content analysis. Trough this investigation we discover that the representation of the indigenous was a great contribution of the Tupaiús Indians to the history of Santarém, even today, part of their cultural heritage can be perceived through the clay and polished stone artifacts existing in cultural spaces in the municipality. It is important that the knowledge about the culture of these Indians is not restricted to a small portion of the privileged, but that this wealth can be perceived, respected and valued by the Santarenes as a way to preserve and value their own history, and these teachings can be initiated in Elementary Schools.
