Este artigo é resultado de uma pesquisa que tem por objetivo identificar e reconhecer as paisagens do medo que compõem a obra Lendas do Guaporé de autoria do escritor rondoniense Matias Mendes. A partir da hipótese de que as histórias de assombração presentes no livro “Lendas do Guaporé” ajudam a compor as passagens do medo na região do vale do Guaporé. Pretende-se desenvolver, neste trabalho, a leitura e análise das históras de assombração da obra literária Lendas do Guaporé (2007), identificando as paisagens do medo por meio das histórias que compõem essa obra. A pesquisa bibliográfica é desenvolvida a partir de estudos sobre as paisagens do medo que compõem as relações entre a literatura e o imaginário coletivo. Como principal teórico utilizaremos Yi-Fu Tuan, com a obra Paisagens do Medo (2005), que estuda os medos no passado e no presente, seus significados e suas diversas faces.

ABSTRACT

This articule is the result of a research whose objective is to Identify and recognize the landscapes of fear that make up the work “Lendas do Guaporé” by Rondoniense writer Matias Mendes. From the hypothesis that the haunting stories present in the book Lendas do “Guaporé ”help to compose the passages of fear in the Guaporé Valley region. This work intends to develop, in this work, the reading and analysis of short of haunting stories the literary work “Lendas do Guaporé”, identifying the landscapes of fear through the stories that compose this work. Bibliographic research is being developed from studies on the landscapes of fear that make up the relationship between literature and the collective imagination. As the main theorist we will use Yi-Fu Tuan with the work "Landscapes of Fear" (2005), which studies the fears in the past and the present, their meanings and their various faces, he makes a reflection on the theme that challenges the human being, since the beginning of humanity.
