MEMÓRIA E CULTURA POPULAR NA FRONTEIRA BRASIL-BOLÍVIA: A FESTA DO TORITO

Este trabalho apresenta um breve registro da história da Festa do Torito no município de Guajará-Mirim/RO, na fronteira Brasil-Bolívia. A pesquisa bibliográfica e de campo, de natureza qualitativa, foi realizada no período de agosto a dezembro de 2018. Os dados da pesquisa foram coletados e analisados a partir dos pressupostos teóricos e metodológicos da História Oral e dos Estudos Culturais, tendo destaque o estudo da memória e da cultura popular. Na coleta de dados foram utilizadas as seguintes técnicas: observação, conversas informais, entrevistas, do tipo semi-estruturadas e registros fotográficos. Os sujeitos da pesquisa foram uma brincante e o coordenador da referida festa nesta cidade. Os resultados da pesquisa possibilitaram a reconstituição de alguns elementos da história, da memória e da cultura popular boliviana, expressas na festa do Torito, evidenciando, também, marcas identitárias culturais e memoriais que contribuem, de forma significativa, para a constituição da cultura popular do município de Guajará-Mirim/RO, na fronteira Brasil-Bolívia.
