IMPLICAÇÕES LINGUÍSTICAS NO ACESSO DE IMIGRANTES NA REDE PÚBLICA ESCOLAR DE PORTO VELHO

Este artigo tem por objetivo discutir como o conhecimento da língua portuguesa interfere na permanência e no êxito dos alunos e alunas imigrantes. A partir de estudos já realizados desde 2014, no âmbito do grupo de pesquisa MIMCAB e, a partir de 2016 do projeto temático “Observatório das Migrações em Rondônia – OBMIGRON”, ambos da Universidade Federal de Rondônia, percebeu-se as dificuldades do acesso de crianças imigrantes, especialmente, em virtude das questões linguísticas. Passados oito anos da chegada dos primeiros haitianos e haitianas em Porto Velho, as escolas de ensino básico ainda encontram dificuldades de ordem linguística e cultural com as crianças imigrantes. Trata-se de uma pesquisa em andamento que visa realizar um levantamento das principais dificuldades de comunicação em língua portuguesa entre os alunos, os professores e o corpo técnico de escolas em Porto Velho. Os pressupostos teóricos que norteiam o estudo são os conceitos da Linguística Aplicada, sobretudo, a possibilidade de análise da linguagem em uso, das reflexões sobre os aspectos socioculturais da língua. Os primeiros resultados apontam que muitas crianças imigrantes conseguiram se matricular e estudar nas escolas, mas a inserção é lenta e relativa, pois há ainda muitos desafios, principalmente em relação aos aspectos sociolinguísticos.
