DIAGNOSIS OF BASIC SANITATION IN THE CITY OF MANACAPURU

Abstract

This research aims to diagnose basic sanitation in the urban area of ​ Manacapuru city, located in the State of Amazon, Brazil. It has the purpose of contribute to improvements in access to drinking water, sewage networks, rainwater drainage and in waste management and storage system. solids and urban cleaning. Laws 11,443/2007, which establishes national guidelines for sanitation, and Law 14,026/2020, which updates the new basic sanitation framework and provides that sewage collection for 90% of the population and the supply of drinking water for 99% of the population to be a reality by the end of 2033. For methodological procedures, this research was of a qualitative nature, and typologies defined as: descriptive and exploratory, where facts and phenomena of reality were described. For data collection, they were through bibliographical research, observations, field survey, in addition to photographic records. In the research development, the pillars of basic sanitation are presented, such as the supply and access to drinking water, the description of the functioning of the sewage networks, information about the management and drainage of rainwater, as well as knowledge about the process of storage and management of solid waste in Manacapuru city.

Especialização em Engenharia Ambiental - UFAM (1998). Graduação em Geografia pela Universidade Federal do Amazonas - UFAM (1997). Professor Associado da Universidade do Estado do Amazonas - UEA. Experiência profissional na área de Geografia, Meio Ambiente, Recurso Hídrico e Turismo. Vice Coordenador do Mestrado profissional em Gestão e Regulação de Recursos Hídricos. Atua no ensino superior e pesquisa no curso de mestrado e graduação em geografia, recursos hídricos, meio ambiente e turismo.
