Cities are spaces of constant transformation, and the movements in the urban configuration interfere in the dynamics of urban climate and consequently in the perception of those who inhabit these spaces over time. Current research shows that small and medium-sized cities already have characteristics of climate deregulation that can be experienced by their inhabitants, especially the elderly population that has been residing in a certain place for a long time. Therefore, the central objective of this research is to analyze the climatic perception and thermal comfort of the elderly population of the urban area of Manacapuru - AM. Also, to compare the climatic perception of the interviewees through time; to investigate the state of social vulnerability of the interviewed population; to characterize the use and coverage of land in the urban area in order to identify possible influence on thermal comfort and quality of life. To achieve this result, the Empirical-Analytical method was predominantly used, from a quanti-qualitative approach, with the purpose of understanding the climatic characteristics in depth, and also, application of thermal comfort index along with the application of questionnaires with the elderly population. In this way, the results revealed that the thermal comfort indexes alone are not able to characterize thermal comfort, so that the sample from the elderly confirmed thermal discomfort not only of the moment, but growing through the decades. Awakening reflection beyond natural factors, but also social, structural and planning.
