TEACHING GEOGRAPHY IN THE CLASSROOM WITH THE SUPPORT OF GAMES IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL FINAL YEARS IN A PUBLIC SCHOOL IN THE CITY OF MANACAPURU-AM

Abstract

This article presents an analysis of the teaching-learning of geography using games as didactic support. The teaching of geography needs to be articulated with active methodologies that awaken in the student the interest in learning geography in a pleasant way. The general objective of the article was to analyze and understand how games and teaching materials can stimulate teaching - learning in geography and characterize them as a facilitating method of knowledge in geography in an attractive and motivating way. The specific objectives selected were to analyze the games as a didactic resource in the teaching and learning process in the final years of elementary school and to contribute to the teaching work in the classroom through teaching materials and simple and easily accessible games as a teaching strategy - learning in geography that allow interaction, motivation and satisfactory results. The methodology is based on the type of qualitative research and was carried out in a public school in the city of Manacapuru-AM with students from the 7th grade of elementary school in the final years in the period of three months. As data collection instruments, a bibliographic survey was used in academic google and questionnaires (open or closed) and/or interviews (structured, semi-structured) were applied. As main results, we can mention the games as an active methodology, positive learning results are obtained, it provides interaction between students, autonomy in the search for knowledge and makes geography classes more dynamic and attractive.
