Abstract

SUMMARY

This study discusses how Physical Education is taught in the initial years in indigenous schools in Brazil and Bolivia, based on the perception of teachers. For the research in question, a semi-structured questionnaire was used containing six questions for teachers, referring to the performance of Physical Education in the early years. With this, it was obtained as a result that the indigenous school in Brazil, there is no need to apply Physical Education, as they report that students already practice physical activities indirectly in their recreation and culture and that in some of their classes they are dynamic and playful way. On the other hand, the indigenous school in Bolivia follows the same reasoning, however, they add Physical Education in the initial years at school as offered in the urban curriculum. Therefore, it mentions the importance of the relationship between theory and practice of Physical Education in the teaching and learning process in the village.
