Literatura comparada na América Latina: marcas de pós-colonialidade na obra Texaco

Abstract

Abstract: This article aims to correlate the studies of comparative literature in Latin America and those of post-colonial literature, identifying the marks of these historical-cultural movements present in the work Texaco (1992), by the Martinist writer Patrick Chamoiseau, thus reflecting on the relationships between local and universal traditions. In the theoretical framework, the studies by Coutinho (2003) to deal with comparative literature in Latin America will be considered, Santiago (2019) to think about the concept of between-place and the emergence of marginalized voices in literature, Bhabha (1998) in what concerns refers to post-colonial literature, and to cultural studies of antiquity in Martinique, Figueiredo (1998). This is a work of bibliographic review and comparativism. The text is divided into four parts, the first introduces the discussions of Comparative Literature in Latin America, then addresses aspects of Postcolonial Literature. The third part relates these literatures to the movements of blackness and antiquity and in the last part it highlights some aspects of these characteristics, including the discussions of creolity in Texaco.
