Abstract

Literacy corresponds to the learning processes of the decoding of signs and letters in reading, their codification in the intention of writing words and numerals, as well as the comprehension of both the reading of words and texts, and logical- mathematical concepts related to numerals. During this process, several types of difficulties can occur, because the children will learn each by your time and not with the same ease and naturalness. There are difficulties due to lack of access to books, or encouragement from their parents and insufficient or inadequate schooling, but there are also learning difficulties inherent in the learner, which were addressed in this study. They manifest as dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia and dysortography, and require from the parents and teachers to be identified early and also treated by a multidisciplinary team, as well as different teaching strategies and assessments in order to promote healthy schooling conditions for children with learning difficulties. The study was developed through a bibliographical research and aimed to analyze the concept of learning difficulties and to describe the main ones in the literacy process.
