The proposal of this article is to present the challenges faced by two literacy teachers, one of them is from the city of Três Lagoas, State of MS and the other one is from the city of Porto Velho State of RO for the development of their teaching literacy practice during the period of Social isolation of the covid- 19 in the year 2020. Thus, in the scope of a dialectical research, in which interview and testimonial collection were used, the data collected was analyzed here. Freire's theoretical assumption is what sustains the discussion because it makes possible to read and interpret reality critically. The data revealed that the year 2020 was an atypical year and that for the development of literacy practice, teachers made use of teaching knowledge, some of them were not experienced during initial and continuing education. We expect on that reflection about the challenges of educational practice in the area of literacy in a greater ideal humanizing perspective for children, especially of the popular class, because we believe that it allows access to the more elaborate culture. On the other hand, we underline that the data show a certain social exclusion, considering that many children could not to access the electronic media properly to participate in the remote classes effectively and with quality.
