WEAVING KNOWLEDGE: THE URGENCY OF A LEGAL FRAMEWORK FOR AN ANTI-RACIST AND DIVERSITY EDUCATIONAL PRACTICE

Abstract

This article presents an analysis from a geographic perspective of the existing gap in public policies and legislation, in which the marginalization of LGBTQIA+ identities in educational spaces. Seeking to promote intersectional reflection with race, gender and sexualities. Inspired by the work of Joseli Maria Silva, the text highlights the urgency of legislation that supports the inclusion and expression of sexual diversity in the school context as a space for sociability and training of people. In the end, the analysis emphasizes the importance of a school space that respects cultural and ethnic diversity.

  • Guilherme Rabelo Brunoro, Universidade Federal de Rondônia

    Master's student in the Graduate Program in Geography (PPGG) at the Federal University of Rondônia (UNIR). Graduated in Geography from the Federal University of Rondônia (UNIR). Member of the Research Group on Geography and Territorial Planning in the Amazon (GOT-Amazônia). Has experience as a General Geography teacher in the free preparatory course for the university entrance exam and the National High School Exam (ENEM) through the Federal University of Rondônia (UNIR) in the VEMPRAUNIR project. Was a CNPq scholarship holder of the Institutional Program for Scientific Initiation Scholarships (PIBIC/CNPq) and a technical researcher for the project: Rethinking Dams - Innovative Solutions for Creating Sustainable Communities (INFEWS) at Michigan State University (MSU). Works in the research area of Territorial Policies with an emphasis on socio-environmental contradictions caused by the construction of hydroelectric projects in the Amazon.

    Mestranda pelo Programa de Pós-Graduação em Geografia PPGG, pela Universidade Federal de Rondônia - UNIR. Pesquisadora do Grupo de Estudos e Pesquisas em Geografia, Mulher e Relações Sociais de Gênero - GEPGENERO e do Projeto de Extensão Clube de Leitura Lélia Gonzales, da Universidade Federal de Rondônia - UNIR. Graduada no curso de Licenciatura em Geografia, pela Universidade Federal do Oeste do Pará - UFOPA (2019). Na graduação fui bolsista do Programa de Institucional de Bolsas de Iniciação à Docência - PIBID/UFOPA (2016-2018), participei do Grupo de Estudos Élisée Reclus vinculado ao Núcleo de Pesquisas sobre Espaço, Política e Emancipação Social -NEPES/UFOPA (2018.2). Tenho interesse nas seguintes áreas: Geografia e Gênero, Geografia e Pensamento Decolonial e Ensino de Geografia.

    Ph.D. in Socio-Environmental Sciences and Sustainable Development from the Center for Advanced Amazonian Studies (NAEA) at the Federal University of Pará (2004), Post-Doctorate in Human Geography from the State University of Ponta Grossa (UEPG-PR). Master's in Geography (Human Geography) from the University of São Paulo (1996), Bachelor's in Geography from the Federal University of Rondônia (1988). Associate Professor in the Department of Geography at the Federal University of Rondônia. Main research area in Geography and Gender, with an emphasis on Public Policies for women in rural, forest, and water areas. Coordinates the Study and Research Group on Geography, Women, and Gender Social Relations (GEPGENERO). Also a permanent faculty member of the Graduate Program in Geography at the Federal University of Rondônia. Participates in the following Research Networks: Latin American Network of Geography and Gender (RLAGG), Space and Difference Network (RED#), and the Ibero-Latin American Network of Studies in Geography, Gender, and Sexualities (REGGILA).
