Abstract

The Conservation Units (UC) of Integral Protection is a modality of protected areas of legal form where the resources or the nature must be used the minimum, only 5%, with activities of research and tourism. However many of the mentioned PAs face problems like misuse of nature causing different environmental impacts and pressure. The present work aims to address how nature is used in Conservation Units of Integral Protection, especially in the State Park of Vila Velha, located in the municipality of Ponta Grossa, Paraná. For this purpose, some procedures were used, such as construction of a bibliographical reference, documentary and on-site visit in the place with direct observations and collection of relevant information. The respective park has relevance, either for its geological formations, or for the protection of the fauna and flora of the region, besides great tourist attraction.
