Northeastern indigenous people experience a disintegration of their culture and knowledge preserved for several generations, mainly due to conflicts arising from land issues. As cultural elements are a way to resist, to obtain their identity and to strengthen their territoriality, the Fulniô Indians, located in the municipality of Águas Belas, in the state of Pernambuco, are inserted in this conjuncture with the aggravating expansion of the urban core of the city. erefore, the objective of this essay is to identify the main cultural and social characteristics that can link and consolidate territoriality in the traditional community and discuss the main adversities faced by the indigenous people. As a result, we observed that the Fulni-ô have some peculiarities in the conservation of various cultural components such as their native language and their religious rituals, where they are ways of preserving their traditions and a way to resist in the face of the various conflicts that the community faces.
