To understand the healing process carried out by healers, it is necessary to understand how the disease process is seen by them. According to the healers, the evil to be cured is a combination of the spiritual and mental state, thus attributing changes and physiological reactions in people. From this perspective, one comes to understand that healing is not exclusively in physiological changes, but in the realignment of both the physical body and the spirit, thus acquiring balance and reestablishing health. Popular medicine practiced by faith healers is a culture that has resisted time, prejudice and persecution since its inception. The culture of faith healers consists of a ritual that seeks to obtain healing through prayers, gestures, plants and sacred objects. The present study used the phenomenological method as a tool, helping to understand this cultural phenomenon and the concept of place, contributing to the faith healers' perception of their belonging to the practice and its representations involving their experiences. The research was developed in the central region of the State of Rondônia, motivated by the lack of studies on this topic in the region, as it is an area with cultural diversity, due to the state's migration process. The perception of the symbolic and sacred aspects of the blessing proved to be very complex during the study, as it involves the belief of the person to be blessed and the connection of the healer with the sacred. Another factor highlighted was the mechanism of resistance to prejudice, which consists of performing rituals in a more reserved manner and avoiding confrontation.
