RIVERSIDE WOMEN AND PERCEPTION: MENTAL MAPS AND NARRATIVES OF WOMEN IN THE DISTRICT OF NAZARÉ-RO

This article brings as its main discussion the social relations of gender and the construction of empowerment, trajectory and spatialities of riverine women in rural areas of the district of Nazaré and regions of medium and low wood, from their perceptions demonstrated in elaborate narratives and mental maps For them. Nazaré is located approximately 130 km from the city of Porto Velho/RO. The research was carried out during the period of postgraduate training, master's degree in geography. Where we analyze the new social constructions of riverside women, with a focus on gender and empowerment. The phenomenological methodology and the use of the technique of mental maps and narratives, it is possible to understand the experience, culture and spatialities of these women. The riverside women present themselves in a scenario of specific characteristics influenced by their experience on the banks of the water, a different look at nature. It is possible to affirm that they daily build new perspectives and spatialities. The results were obtained as a result of the methodological steps, with regard to fieldwork, collection of narratives, interviews, preparation of maps and analysis. The research aims to understand the reality of women in the study area, based on the understanding of gender relations and the female condition, starting from a problem based on the constant dynamics of relationships and their new constructions. Thus, it was possible to understand the new social constructions that are beginning to be experienced by women while their political and organizational initiatives are strengthened.Downloads
