Educational technologies for the prevention of the use of alcohol and other drugs among adolescents

This study aimed to identify scientific evidence on the application of information and communication technologies in education to prevent the use of alcohol and other drugs among adolescents. This is an integrative review, carried out from February to March 2020 in the CINAHL, Cochrane, Scopus, LILACS, PubMed, PsycINFO databases and in the SciELO virtual library. The sample consisted of 16 articles and the most used technologies in the studies were computer software, computer content in CD-ROM format, videos and games. The use of the technologies brought positive results, because their use allowed the reduction of the intentions of substance use, increased knowledge about the theme and better ability to refuse the use of alcohol and drugs by adolescents. No studies aimed at the use of information and communication technologies for this purpose in Brazil were identified.
