The History of the Tenharin People is involved in the processes of occupation of the Amazon, mainly those linked to the Seringal system and the construction of the BR-230, in the 1970s. The Transamazônica, as a state policy, changed the social, cultural, political and economic organization and structural of the villages. Strategically, the Tenharin started to occupy the side of the road, as a way to guarantee the territorial and cultural defense, in an effort to fight for their constitutional rights. This work aimed to problematize the dilemmas of the "illusion of participation" of indigenous peoples, especially the Tenharin-Kagwahiva affected by the implementation of large projects, especially with regard to the Tabajara Dam. In fact, 50% of the natural nut groves in the Tenharin indigenous land will be compromised by the hydroelectric plant. In addition, this work sought to highlight indigenous resistance strategies against the action of the state agency.
