Ambivalences of digital culture and the challenges of education for citizenship

This article uses some metaphors represented in the British series 'Black Mirror' as a background to problematize the challenges that the hyper connected society is demanding for education. Drawing on recent studies that have examined the contradictions of digital culture, as well as surveillance on the web, ubiquitous communication, and hate speech amplified in networks, we bet that the classroom is a privileged space to instigate young people born in the digital age to reflect the ethical and aesthetic dimension of the internet. Our assumption is that education, regardless of level, need to discuss with their students the complex maze that has become digital networks.
